I didn't need anything fancy, I was just sick of microwaving my mug of water for tea. Given the price, it was more ideal to get one of these than the traditional stove top-type kettles. This was perfect for my needs, takes a bit of time to boil, but probably not any longer than it would on the stove. As an added plus, turn down the lights and you've got a neon blue bubbling light show.

Great kettle, I've used it daily for 8 months without a hiccup. The most significant distinguishing factor for this kettle vs. others is that it's all metal or glass, you don't have boiling water running over plastic components as you do with most electric kettles. All plastics degrade with sun and heat, so this was really important to me. Aside from this, the kettle has been great.
